All this is going to somehow be given to a lovely lady to deliver to an amazing orphanage in Ethiopia.
So excited. I can just imagine wee little toes being stuffed into tiny booties. I didn't use a pattern, I just used a shrunken version of the toe up socks I made for the girls.
I made a sweet little sweater in a hairy pink angora/acrylic. I'm happy with how it came out and I hate sewing buttons.
I suddenly flashed on a way to make sewing buttons to crochet pieces less of a pain in the ass....duh, use a piece of felt behind the buttons to anchor the stitches rather than try to weave thread behind a button shank through a solid enough stitch to hold it securely. I don't know why I didn't think of it before, I've used the same "interfacing" technique for other applications.
I still hate sewing buttons, it's just faster now.
The most fun is that I have used up all of my partial-leftover skeins of yarn and I have room for a lot more new stuff!!!!! When I have some dollars to spend that is...ahem. The following hats were made with bits of some of my very FAVE yarns.
You made some really cute items here. I like to create for charity projects, too.
