In thinking about this post, I realized there has been a theme in my life. I've been blessed by many women, who have been dear friends, leaving a deep mark on my heart, present for only a short time.
Women who challenged both my thinking and understanding of life, the universe, everything. Who have led their lives in proximity to mine and in some way built me up, and taught me better ways simply by how they lived.
One of those is a crochet buddy who trekked back East, back home but continues to inspire me and make me giggle from afar!
She started a new blog called Catlander. I recommend a read.
Particularly moving is the flow chart of kindness she has made.
How to communicate with people in a loving way which shows them that you value their personhood as much as you value your own.
It is a concept we talk about in our house a lot. Treating people with respect, communicating what we mean and accepting the idea that the person we're talking to has the best intentions possible toward us.
Ow! That is so painful sometimes! Dealing with my ex is one of those times I have to turn that off and
anyway, opening yourself up to being duped is difficult......but if we all spoke with love to others, think of how many "galloping grumps"* we'd eliminate!!???!!!
Give it a try.
