Gone, gone, gone, been gone, gone, gone so long

There has been very little crafting of any sort going on here at Chez Tez.  I have some fibres waiting to be crafted with and no gumption to get started yet.

I'm recovering from a bout of pneumonia
That shit'll knock ya for a loop!  My sister came and scooped up my kids and took them to her house for a few days, when I was at the worst part of it.  I'm so thankful.
I had barfed up the first 3 or 4 days of antibiotics, and after my chest xray, my doctor switched me to a different set...I tell ya, I felt better after 1 day of dosing on the second medicine, than I did after 6 days of the first.
Love that science has produced such an array of treatment and cure for diseases which, in the past, were more likely than not, to be fatal!

I've had sick kids.
Both girls took a turn with a nasty cold and missed several days of school.  Leisha has been suffering from frequent UTI's **she's got her 5th since Christmas** and our Dr has launched an investigation into the why of it.  She is scheduled to see a pee-er doc and she's had a full set of ultrasounds *kidney's, full bladder, empty bladder, urethra/ters.  Again, so thankful for the science which has created the technology to diagnose this stuff!

We've had a room switcheroo
The girls decided they wanted separate rooms.  I sacrificed my craft storage space/tv/toy room
for Leisha to move upstairs. It's such a big deal for her to be able to sleep by herself.  When I look at where she was in terms of anxiety, even just one year ago, I am so proud of her for growing to the place she is now!!!  She still comes to my bed, sometimes, and maybe she will for a long time.  I'm ok with that, parenting is 24/7!  The nice thing is that now we have a bigger bed, making the times she does come, more comfortable!!  My brother and his wife recently merged houses and found themselves with an extra queen sized bed...which they graciously and generously gave to use, for free!  Faron and  I gave Jaala our double bed for her newly private space.  She loves it, partly because there is room for both dogs there!

Both Dogs?
Sage

Sage

For sure.  We hooked up with a sweet little pooch at a shelter in Ponoka.  He is a Fell/Border Terrier named Sage Brush, he's about 1 year old.  He is so sweet.  What a great little personality he has!  We're loving him to bits. His amber coloured eyes are awesome!  He was sooo emaciated when we first met him.  So sick.  I wanted to cry every time I pet his body.  He was so frail and skinny that I was afraid I was hurting him.  All of his bones were visible even under the long and shaggy coat.
At this point, he has gained about 8 pounds and I can feel the difference in his shoulder area.  He isn't nearly as boney there.  He has a way to go yet.
We've had him for a month and he's done very well in learning the ropes.  I've just spent hours and hours with him, bonding and teaching him gently and slowly.  Thyme helps, he pretty much does what she does, now.
Thyme is funny with him.  For the most part she accepts that he's here, tho there is some competition for pets and snuggles.  some thing that Thyme absolutely smacks him down for...she will not allow him to lay between Faron and I for bed time snuggle.  Sage has accepted that and doesn't even try for it anymore.
I guess they've determined their hierarchy and are fine with it.

And that is life.

  1. I am feeling horrified that you and your Mr. were sleeping in a double bed! Glad you all got some bedroom switcheroos... I keep threatening Greg with a king size if he doesn't get over on his quarter of the mattress! HeeHee
