I joined a "HandMade" 2011 Challenge among my friends on Face book. Someone posted that they would make and send a hand made item to the first 5 people who responded with intentions to do the same for 5 of their friends.
Such a great idea!
Here is the first hand made item waiting to be sent off to a new home.
It's a woolen hat, light weight and airy, breathable, meant for the spring and fall. The individual is an avid mountain biker, so I thought this would be a good thing for wicking away sweat and keeping the head warm. It's meant to be a boy's gift...does it look girlie?
The colours aren't captured well by my camera, nor are the textures.
The green wool is called "pea soup" it really does remind me of rich and creamy pea soup! It has a lovely soft texture without being too lofty/puffy.
The variegated orange is so cool too. It is called "haze" it is orange twisted with white strands which were hand painted in yellow, blue and green hues. So lovely.
On a side note. Only 1 week of recovery remaining until I return to work. Oh man I have racing thoughts. What if I'm not ready? I am certainly needing to gather more strength....Faron is coming with me for a short walk today, I'm hoping to do increasing distance each day in order to build that strength.
I also need more free neck motion to develop this week.
It seems as though my neck is very stiff still.
I really have no choice but to be ready to return to work. I have no more sick or personal leave days saved, so missing more work means no pay check. That is not a good idea when one is the sole bread winner.
On a side note....Now that I have been "diagnosed" with a short neck, I find the knowledge to be very pervasive in my thoughts. Oh boy.
