I made more shit.

I have nothing useful to say, so I'll just show you what I've been doing.

First, some back ground.  My children lose mittens...incessantly. Regardless of threats to allowance, well-being and play time allotment, they lose their mittens.  It's like a plague of lost mittens.
I can never send them out the door without proper warm clothing, so often it has been my personal mittens which leave the house on tiny hands....never to return to their rightful spot.

As a result, this winter, I found I had zero mittens.  I'm not a must have mittens person, my hands are hot and usually the mittens come off (he he he!).  However, when it is -44 degrees, like it was 2 weeks ago, even my hot little hands need covering.
So I set about making myself a pair.  I had some multi print yarn which mostly matched my coat and I crocheted myself a pair, with extra long cuffs to keep the snow out of my sleeves when I'm throwing snowballs at passing vehicles.

Fold the cuff, or don't fold the cuff, I love choices!

                                         TADA! Yummy, cozy mittens.

I suck at photos so that is why you get three of the same thing, to make up for the fact that one is terrible.  Why have one bad one, when you can have three??!!

Next up, a pair of charcoal colored ones for my Faron, whose mittens have also disappeared into the great wide open.

Since Faron's parents and sister don't read this blog, I feel free and clear to share what I crafted for them for Christmas.

I found some white terry cloth, enough for 4 hand towels, for cheap ( $3.99 ), I had in my stash of fabric, cute little 5x5 inch squares and some lovely eyelet trim.  Put them together and what did I get...?
