What up?

I'm home sick today.  I am coughing up gross shit. I've discovered the benefits of using two snot rags at one time, for each blow of the nose. Namely, no boogers all over my fingers.  Yes, that IS how many boogers I have.
Check back later to see if I have any skin left on my nose, at the end of the day. Yum.

In spite of being sick, I made Leishabeth a Lei for her "Hawaiian Dress" day at school.  I'll hold for applause.....
Thank you, I do feel like a super hero mom!  *or like a mom who knew about the dress up day for a week and did nothing about it until the morning of the dress up day when I was already sick but could NOT send Lei out the door without a lei to complete her outfit!*  The later explanation may be slightly more accurate than the former.

What do you do when your kid needs a lei on short notice?
Step One:  Cut a 1.5 inch strip off a stained, torn T-shirt, long enough to tie around your child's neck and hang to just above their navel. Jersey knit, which is what most t shirts are made of, does not fray, but it does roll when stretched, give that baby a good stretch, length wise, to get a nice roll going on.
Step Two: Lay the rolled strip of jersey out, rolled edges facing up.
Step Three: Cut apart one of your many silk flower bouquets, collected over years of getting fake flower bouquets from the dollar store, from your lovely children.
Step Four: Hot glue the silk flowers *sans stems* in the ditch created by the rolling of the jersey strip.
You can arrange first, for a cohesive pattern, or you can just eye ball it and stick em on as you go.

Be careful not to glue the flowers to your table, that shit oozes! Experience speaks.
I omitted the instruction to heat up the glue gun, I figured that would be relatively intuitive for you.

There you can be a super hero Mama too!

I thought I'd never have a place for these gaudy *blooms*!

I left some space, where the "string" lays on the back of her neck, without flowers.  She is fairly grouchy about  that stuff.
