Thanks for coming back anyway!

Just too much going on in life to clear my head enough to blog about it. Sometimes a facebook status to share my particular state of mind etc. is all the effort I put in!
Is it worth the bandwidth to blog like that most of the time?
Hmmmm
Jaala has been diagnosed with a visual-spatial learning disorder.
We've been advocating for her at school to put in place the adaptations she needs to thrive academically. She doesn't need the level of work to be modified, she needs the method of presentation to be modified so that she can translate and process the material she's given, into learning and action.
It explains a lot of things, including my suspicion of an inattention issue. We have an IPP written for her and now it's a matter of constantly "encouraging" the teacher to pay attention to area's of her instruction and assignments which Jaala needs modified for layout and amount.
Faron is the most amazing dad EVER. I am madly in love with the man, and supremely proud that my little girls have him for a dad.
I had to work yesterday while Jaala did her very first research project presentation. Her first public presentation...solo.
The background:
I had to work yesterday while Jaala did her very first research project presentation. Her first public presentation...solo.
Part of Jaala's LD is a social element. She doesn't process social cues in an ordered fashion, which leaves her still processing while the others have moved on. It is more complex than that, but that's in a nutshell. It causes anxiety because she's extremely self aware and she knows that she is failing to keep up. Which snowballs into the fear of people "looking at" her and in turn, a with drawing and preference for the back ground.
The fact that she bravely got up and did the presentation is a huge huge success for J.
I couldn't be there and that made me sad, also Jaala.
The explaination:
Faron went to the presentation for us, and at Jaala's request, he stood at the back of the class holding up a picture of me for Jaala to use
He is such a great guy.
He helps with homework every single night.
I used to worry about the father figure my children didn't have....now I don't.

Love love love him.
I'm so very happy to have you back on here... I was thinking of you just this morning! Missing sitting on hard dorm mattresses, backs against cold brick walls and having the best conversations!! Love you my friend!
