We had Danielle for 3 days!

Finally, we've been having short visits with her for the last couple of years, but this is the first time we had her for several days. Faron was beside himself with both anticipation and anxiety about her visit. He's waited 18 years to have the freedom to build a relationship with her, outside of her mom's influence. Her mom has thus far done a lot to prevent that relationship, so Danielle and Faron had a lot of ground to cover, a lot of questions to ask and answer and a lot of mixed up emotions to muddle through. The process was definately started this week, and they have a long way to go, but the time together this week was awesome.
She's a great kid, she jokingly calls me 'mommy' as she towers over me LOL! She is thinking about taking her second semester this year at a highschool in Red Deer, and living with us, then starting College that fall. If she can work out the details with her mom, we'll go ahead with it. It will be a learning curve for all of us. She's never lived with her dad, I've never 'parented' an 18 year old and we'll all have adjustments to make, but it will be wonderful to have her around!

While she was out, we also picked up Andrew, Faron's 19 year old son, for a visit. As soon as he walked in the door, Dani and he hit it off, struck up conversation, had MILLIONS of things in common and it was wonderful!

For two kids who were raised apart, by different mothers, they totally have similar natures, and natures similar to their dad! In the nature vs nurture debate, nature wins this one hands down.

Here are some pictures.
