It's given me lots of crocheting time though.
Lei grabbed a package of yarn I purchased *thanks to the generous gift of a friend, with instructions to spend it on something I WANTED*!!!! and insisted it was the most beautiful yarn ever and please please make her a sweater.
Since it's spring, and the yarn, which is wool and acrylic mixed, was a chunky (#5) weight, I opted for a cropped, short sleeved cardigan. One button closure in a very airy crochet pattern.
Being a chunky yarn, the sweater whipped up in no time and she has worn it several times since the weekend. By her report it is extremely warm, even with the short sleeve. It also fits well enough that she'll be able to wear it through Fall. Yay for Mama-Made clothing!!! I seriously never imagined that Lei would like this yarn, I had a totally different idea for it when I bought it!

Which brings me to mention the works in progress!
My beautiful Mama is having a birthday at the end of June, so I am making her a really awesome something. *Do NOT tell her!!!*
Here is a sneak peak!
I love the smooth cotton yarn, and the periwinkle colour...even more...I'm totally loving this pattern! It is fun, and interesting and keeps my ADHD happy with the ever changing stitches. My favourite stitch so far...the "bubble stitch" you can see them at short intervals running almost vertically toward the centre of the item.
AND
Whilst browsing through a Crochet Today! magazine, I spied this HAT and since it isn't out until later this summer, I went on a quest for a similar pattern.
I found one which asked for worsted weight yarn. Since I had none, I decided it will be fine to use two strands of lighter yarn held together. I have 12, 50gr skeins of Demet Wool in a slate grey colour. It has lovely drape *perhaps not the best feature for a hat, but starch and blocking will help.* and I'm enjoying this pattern as well. Here is the work in progress. I'll share a picture when it is completed.

Thank goodness for PVR, DS games, Xbox, books, and a puppy to keep these kids occupied while we're cooped up.
I could easily go nuts. You wouldn't think it would be so easy to go from way nuts to extremely nuts...but it is OH so easy.
Leisha is really struggling with allergies *sorry punkin*. Itchy throat and pallet, runny eyes and nose, sneezing etc. Thankfully, no itchy skin. I've started giving her Allegra. She gets some relief from that.
Jaala has tonsilitis, and is on antibiotics. I took her to the Dr. yesterday, 10 days of battling this cold and intermittent sore throat, plus she started rattling and wheezing when she breathed. Turns out, she has an asthma flare up. Meaning she only gets asthmatic symptoms when she is quite ill, or when there is an underlying infection. So while she doesn't have chronic asthma, she does need the puffers to get this episode under control.
I have zero energy. My house is not even just messy and cluttered. It is sadly gross. There is a layer of dog hair and dust clinging to everything, even the clothing which was washed and has sat here for 10 days waiting to be folded. We just keep grabbing stuff we need off the clean pile and throwing the used stuff on the dirty pile....the dirty pile which has spilled out of my ample laundry room into the basement hall like a carpet of dirty laundry.
It's to the point now that I can't ever imagine having enough gumption to clean this shit hole up. Bleehhh.
We are living like slobs for the time being. A certain level of clutter I can totally live with and thrive in. My brain is cluttered with ideas and thoughts and randomness, it seems fair and logical that my surroundings would reflect that.
This is a totally new level.
Makes me want to post a sign on my door, which quotes the lovely Jim Carey as Ace Ventura in Pet Detective's bathroom scene where he exits soaking wet with ripped clothing....
"whooooooooeeeeee DO NOT go in THERE!"

So glad you are creating lovely things! I love doing laundry and cleaning; I would love to come catch you up! Seriously, I was born to clean. I should be a personal cleaner/organizer. Love you always, t
