I snipped it apart, the cowl was A LOT of material! I sewed the cowl on to the bottom of the shirt, hemmed the sleeves to 3/4 length, and added a stretch lace insert to the neckline. It's a loose, comfy, knit dress for Jaala.
She loves it because it covers past her knees but doesn't restrict her running and climbing. (The two criteria which dresses must meet before she will even try them on.)
Success! I love it when that happens, it's better than the hat fiasco, *story to be told at a later date*!
She was reading on the mudroom roof and so I had to snap pictures while I was blocking her escape.
Hence the ridiculous expressions and poses.
The small ones had 1/2 a day of school, so we hung out, did some out door chores, and played with our very, shaggy mutt. *I'm constantly reminded by my 9yo that she is not a mutt, she is in fact a pure bred dog, regardless of how many times I counter with " I know, I'm using it as an affectionate name, not a factoid", I should just quit saying it.*

Today is a light chore day then a walk at the off leash river bend, and pizza. Pizza??? Yep because my girls have won free pizzas for their stellar participation in the Home Reading Program through Pizza Hut!!! Thank you pizza hut for encouraging our kids to read by offering high salt, high fat, nutrition free food rewards. HA! Just being a devil there.
In other occurrences, we had birthday dinner for my wonderful niece. She turned 17 on Thursday. I was 17 when she was born. I have come face to face with my aging self. OY!
My younger brother announced that he was going to change his middle name from Millard to Mischief. A change I fully supported by announcing a change of my first name to "trouble" Younger brother thinks that is a great idea, as my full name would be Trouble Lynn....troublin' get it? AH! More geeky humor may not exist. I love it!
