That WHOOP you heard, was not a war cry, nor a cougar screaming...unless you count me as a cougar *rawr baby* and the celebratory yell, a scream. Why am I whooping it up? Because inspite of no pay check for the next two months, I am off work, on summer holidays and I am STOKED! So much has been going on around here in the last 4 months, my house looks like a tornado blew in, barfed its contents, blew them around and blew out. Yes Char, it is so. Leanne, remember my dorm room? Multiply that by 6 rooms and you get the picture! We're going to have a contest here today....whoever can go the whole day without stepping on any of the millions of things on the floor, gets $10...the loser...gets to clean tomorrow! Both Jaala and Leishabeth had wonderful report cards this term! Jaala worked her tiny heiny off and her teacher noticed her hardwork and determination. Her marks reflected the dedication too. Poor Jaala really had to struggle to finish strongly this term. Grade three is one of those grades which fuse prior learning to new learning and then cranks it up a notch requiring abstract and complex thinking. Add in to that the fucking PAT series the third grade is required to write(my issues with those, what they actually measure and the uselessness of them, both as a mother and an educator, is anther post entirely)....with the teachers preformance stress coming forth to the children, and it was a rough year for my little brownie. I'm really proud of her because even while hitting the wall, she hung on and made it to the end. She is such a trooper. Leishabeth, began grade two with some literacy deficits, which were addressed by a pull out program with the resource teacher, a few adaptations in the classroom and lots of hard work by Leisha! The first term report showed Lei in the 34th percentile for language learning, this term, she achieved the 86th percentile, leaving the need for the resource teacher behind! Lei is an academic go-getter! Her first report had 7 area's which were graded NI meaning, not at grade level and needs significant improvement......this final term, 4 of those NI were turned into A's and only one area was left with an NI. Amazing! Faron and I decided to go all proud parents on the little ones and took them for a day trip adventure to Discovery WildLife Park. For them, a GREAT reward for doing their best and working their hardest! Jaala rode a camel....she was completely thrilled not only with the ride, but with the fact that her father had called her from Spain the night before, and told her of his attempt to ride a camel. Unfortunately, her excitement was dashed when she got home...he didn't call her so she could tell him all about it....and we have no way of reaching him in Spain. *all together yell....DUMBFUCK* Regardless of the fact that Kyle won't be getting in on the "in the moment excitement" and animation of the story, he'll still hear it. Just wish I could grab his nose and rub it in the shit he dumps on his kids, until he stops dumping it. BAD boy, poop goes in the potty, not on your kids!" So enjoy the pictures of my beautiful wee angels. And have a happy summer, I'll be back moaning if or when Kyle comes to take the girls for some of the holiday, until then though, we are Westerner Day-ing, Rodeoing, Turtle Lake-ing, Discovery Canyon-ing, Splash Park-ing and playing
