Leisha didn't want to go anyway, so she wasn't put out at all. Jaala on the other hand tried to convince me to give her dad next weekend since he probably just forgot and will miss them too much if he has to wait two extra weeks. I explained that her dad made a choice not to show up and now he has to live with the results of that choice, which is that he won't see her for longer. She protested that he just forgot. "Well Jaala, your dad is a grown up with responsibilities, part of his job is to REMEMBER those responsibilities and live up to them. I'm sorry that those choices have hurt you."
I SHOULDN'T have to say those things to her and watch her face fall.

First of all, the Mc/Palin ticket is ridiculous. Mcain is Bush the 2nd and proffesses small town, blue collar values.....wow, if the demonstration of his moral apptitude is what are called small town values, he can keep them!
He ditched the wife who waited patiently and faithfully for him through 5 years of POW horror. Testifying that his family gave him strength. No one can truly know why he ditched her, but we can see the situation for what it is, she became disabled and he set out for a newer, richer, healthier model.
He lies profusely about everything from his proposed policy, to his stance on other issues....does he not think any of us have memories? Does he not realize the capacity and preformance of film and audio media?
As for his newly appointed running mate, she is about as far from a woman I'd want representing me as a mermaid is! She used state funds to travel to a church to preach! She hired a lobbyist to fight for millions of federal dollars to pay for her famous "Bridge to Nowhere", then falsely represented her original position on it! She advocates for abstinence only education....her 17 year old daughter is knocked up, not done high school, about to marry a petty thief/hockey thug.....so Ms. Palin, how's that abstinence education working for ya....pretty effective? Or no?

I watched "America's Got Talent" the semi finals with Faron, granted we download so we're one show behind. Last week's show, David H said of a preformer "You are what this show is all about, you are as American as the Olympics"

Stephen Harper disolved Parliment and called an election. WTF happened to his resolve and formal bill "prohibiting" leaders from calling an election on a whim, or with the changing political climates? Ohhhhhh that one doesn't apply to him....he meant that bill for OTHER leaders to follow.
I dunno if Canadians are sick enough of the conservative bull shit yet, to elect a different and majority government, but the look of the race so far....shows a good variety of platforms and party's running. Unfortunately, none which have a significant chance of forming government who represent my interests as an atheist Libertarian living in prosperous Alberta.
Pay attention folks in Alberta and BC. This election means a lot is at stake in our economy and our financial/taxation situations. Don't let this election be swallowed up in false issues and posturing and mudslinging. Hold these clowns responsible for what is meaningful to you and make voting and elections and taking a stand about more than how many dollars you have to pass around.
