Leisha was being a total whinner butt, (I have proof!)

so I handed her the camera and told her to go have some fun.
Fun she had! Here are the highlights of her camera ready adventure.
Interesting to see what level her eyes are at, what things are prominent at that level, and what things that are important enough to her, to record.

In other news, I have the unexpected pleasure of having the girls this weekend! Kyle did something to his back at work, I don't know the story or the events but he was too sore to come get the girls for the weekend. We're having a good old fashioned VEG day!
I finished my first practicum on thursday. *sigh* It is difficult to say goodbye to such amazing kids and staff! I was blessed with a super great experiance, and enjoyed every minute of it. My class made me a book, on the front was a class picture, it was titled "Ms. Kyler is special!" The contents of the book were messages written by the students about why I was special to them. I was seated in the CHAIR and each one came to read their message and give me a hug.....oh come on, YOU couldn't sit through that without bawling either!
Then they presented me with a lovely plant because I helped THEM bloom and grow, so they want me to remember them as my plant blooms and grows. AWWWWW!

Leisha also had a very big week. On Monday, her teacher informed me that I could no longer drop Lei off in her classroom, early each school day, so I could get to work on time. Due to the fact that I had to be at work before her classes began, and due to her serious seperation anxiety, when I began my practicum in January, her best managed routine was for me to deliver her to her classroom, contained, secure and ready for the day.
Apparently, it's against school policy, and as other parents were begining to do the same, it was time for them to talk to me about it.
I spent a while explaining Leisha's anxiety and that we created that routine specifically to avoid major melt down....which Lei's teacher is familiar with, Lei used to have a panic attack when the Bible teacher took over the class.
I explained to Lei that it was a rule that she had to wait out side on the play ground. She is a very rule oriented girl, so she decided to find the courage, way down in her belly to TRY it. She asked if Jaala would stay with her....I HATE asking Jaala to do that, she is already given caregivership to Lei, while they're at their dad's. However, Jaala said she would be willing, and on Tuesday morning, I dropped them at the playground, waited until the bell rang, at which time Lei found her best friend, and went into the school with her. She proudly informed her teacher about her recent bout of bravery, and her wonderful teacher celebrated and high fived and rewarded her from the "jar of excellence". The next day, I was told that I didn't need to wait till the bell rang, I could go, she was ok.
And that was that. She was obviously ready to take the step and just needed that catalyst! I'm super proud of her!
Yeah for a brave girl!!!
