She has a UTI that is resistant to the antibiotics she had been originally prescribed, so now she is on ten more days of a different antibiotic. Poor kid.
Jaala was so mad at me in the doctor's office today that she shouted "Yeah, well, when we get home, I'm going to rip the railing right off the wall."
Hmm, what to do, what to do. She was mad because I told her to be quiet while I was listening to Lei. She seems to be hell bent on revenge these days. Maybe my attitude toward her dad is rubbing off, that would be most unfortunate.
*sigh* She is what I call a "one upper", someone who, when wronged, embarrased, hurt or angry, will try to do one worse than she got. Even in the context of play, as I type it just occured to me to wonder if it's a function of her controlled nature.
Faron, the girls and I were having dinner on the weekend, and Faron brought up the fact that he had to meet his ex wife (Tina) to sign the final divorce papers. Then he mentioned that the girls might get to meet her and that he was sure they would like her. Both girls had their faces screwed into strange expressions, and Lei piped up "no no she might be mean to my mom!"
*sigh* (again) They don't even know how ABnormal it is for ex-es to be as hostile as Kyle and Jan are to us. They see the hostility from Jan, they see the anger and hatefulness and hear the name calling and to them, there is nothing else....even though, they have friends at school, whose parents are divorced and DON'T treat eachother badly.
How I wish it were different for them. Ya know, when I left Kyle in Dec of 04, I didn't think this would EVER happen. Whether it was naivitee or stupidity, who cares, fact is, my eyes weren't open to how much evil actually exists inside that man.
The girls are off school for a few days, they had their eyes checked at the optometrist, Leisha has far sightedness in her left eye, and they plan to keep an eye on it, he said to watch for avoidance behavior when it comes to reading books and completing close work. Apparently that indicates that it is uncomfortable to work the eyes in that way and she'll have to go back in for her prescription. Right now though, he decided not to prescribe them, it'll be wait and see.
Jaala has far sightedness in both eyes, but he said it was just tiny and doesn't affect her vision enough to worry about at all, her eyes are strong and she has 20/20 vision....she was also a little show off reading the words and letters as fast as she could teehee!
Tomorrow is Dentist day, and unless Kyle brings me money tonight when he visits the girls, we don't know how we're going to pay for it. Nice.
I got this poem from my friend Pamela, it's a good one.
Morality may consist solely in the courage of making a choice.
Wickedness is always easier than virtue,
for it takes a short cut to everything.
But over time you learn, you can't make wrong work.
There are always two choices,
two paths to take.
One is easy.
And your only reward is that it's easy.
You cannot do wrong without suffering wrong.
Work joyfully and peacefully,
knowing that right thoughts and right efforts
will inevitably bring about right results.
You can never lose anything that really belongs to you,
and you can't keep that which belongs to someone else.
You always experience the consequences of your own acts.
If your acts are right,
you'll get good consequences;
if not, you'll suffer for it
Sooner or later everyone sits down to a banquet of consequences.~~ Author Unknown ~~
It's very normal for kids to be far-sighted. Most are, but most outgrow it. Ave's are still a bit that way and we are told every year to come in yearly and get it checked. Gabe's are awesome, he's on the two year plan, and Emmie hasn't been in at all yet!! miss you! And by the way, i think both of your girlies would be adorable in glasses!!
