Apparently Kyle has "changed his mind" about coming to Lei's special Fathers day event. However, he wants to take both the girls to it. I put my foot down on that. This event is for Kinders and their dad's, Lei needs some special time with her dad, without Jaala. As well, it's not a regular visit night for Kyle, so there is no discussion about that. His complaint is that he can't get off work early for both the fathers day and the regular visit day.......in one week.
I have no sympathy, he chose to move to Edmonton, away from his kids, to live with his girlfriend, if that interferes with his ability to be here for his kids, that is his own damn fault and he should have considered that before he moved.
After Lei talked to her dad and hung up, she said to Faron and I "I'm so excited, maybe daddy changed his mind cause he wants to have some special Lei time!"
When she said that, I was really glad I'd told Kyle no to having Jaala too.
We had an awesome weekend, we went to Children's Fest here in RD, what a great thing! It was at the Rec Center, and for $2 each, we got in to see shows, puppets, music, story telling, face painting, crafts, balloons, bouncers and so much more! Snacks were free and so were all the activities. We took in a Rhythmic Gymnastics show, which I loved, that was my sport as a teen and it was so fun to watch these girls perform. My girls were glued to it and have been trying to imitate them!!!
Loved the sunny warm weather all weekend too, but my house gets soooooo hot and doesn't cool off very much, so welcome to summer and melting in the heat!
PS
We had to say good bye to a good old friend this weekend. Brandy and Dean's Shepard, Bo, had to be put down. He was experiancing muscle and joint atrophy in his hind end and couldn't walk any longer. He was in a lot of pain and the vet said that it was time to let him go.
Leishabeth sobbed and sobbed. He was her favorite, she, like he, couldn't keep up with the other dogs and kids running around and tired more quickly of all the activity, so they could often be found snuggling on the porch floor. He was a steady, quiet, good natured and affectionate dog, the kind of dog that was so gentle and loving that Lei attatched to him right away. Jaala was so sad too. He wasn't her favorite, but she will miss him terribly. She loves Kita, she's wild and vibrant and playful and will stay with her where ever she runs to. Brandy and Dean are sad too, Bo was a wonderful family member, they've made a memorial site for Bo, and we'll take the girls out to put flowers on the site soon.
