Gone Crochetin'

I've been crocheting.  I spend a lot of time sitting or laying and really, crocheting is the most occupying thing there is for me to do.  Other than browse the interweb for new and exciting porn...that is, crochet porn, sewing porn, mixed media arts porn.  The stuff that gets me off need not be nudity!

For those of you not barfing:

Crocheted hats for "Kaps for Kids" a campaign to collect hand made hats for kids with cancer.

one for a girl

one for a boy
...still have yet to fasten off

I made mary jane style slippers *think shoe, not drug* in a light blue angora mix for Jaala, she wanted brown and blue so edged them in brown and added a brown button.
Leishabeth wanted sock style slippers in red and green.  In an effort not to make her feet look like those of Santa's tiny helpers', I used a cherry red and lime green...I like them, she likes them.  They turned out large for her feet, which is good, she'll wear them for more than a minute! I added an after-thought button strap so she may tighten and loosen as she pleases.

No pictures today. Sorry, rounding those two up for photos is more of an expending of energy than I am up for!

I also made a KICK ASS scarf for my husband!  I am completely in love with it and plan to make many more!

First, show off:
first it is long, for my very long man

it is reversible, one side jersey the other tartan flannel

and it is wide...for my wide man ;p
I wanted to point out one of my personal favourite features.  Notice in the last photo how the jersey *dark navy* fabric ends before the tartan does?  That is so when it washes, the flannel will fray leaving the scarf with a *hopefully* beautiful fringe!  Do I need a life? LOL.

Some other ideas for scarves come from a wonderful box of pure wool fabric, sent to me from my Grandma.  I have a variety of plaid patterns and colours *some which were featured in the couch throw I made for Vern and Brea*, also some gorgeous solids, Navy, rich red and black.  Look for photos of those in up coming weeks.

The red wool may be put to use for something else I have cooking in my head.  I have three little nieces who live in Colorado where it gets chilly and even cold, but not frosty or bitter.  For those warm winter days would a medium weight cape look amazing?

I'm still considering what I have in my stash to use for a lining, but I'm getting really excited about the idea of making them these:
