I seem to be mostly back on my feet from this latest surgery. My thyroid is gone. The surgeon found no spread of cancer to other areas. THIS is GOOD news.
I'm seeing another specialist regarding radiation treatment and controlling my hormone levels.
Right when I returned from my hospital stay, I contracted and strep infection. YUCK! Pain, woozy, aching everywhere, barfing, coughing, fever. NOT fun. Antibiotics took care of it, but before I was through the course of meds, I came down with influenza. Again with the fever, pain, dizziness, snot, coughing....this time it felt like a truck parked on my chest. I could not get a full breath of air.
All that explains my absence!
I have good range of motion in my head and neck again, so that level of healing is going well. I have insane hot flushes, painful traveling prickles *I don't know either*, constant fatigue and odd mood swings. Nothing abnormal LMAO!
As I get more and more strength, I am able to do more, and that is exciting! Though everytime I do too much and get exhausted and tearful, I have to remind myself that I've spent more than a year being ill and have had 3 surgeries in that time to recover from, so I just need to give myself permission to be exhausted.
I've been so grateful to family and friends who have done an amazing job of taking care of me and my family.
This past week, I felt well enough to sew a bit. I sewed a sweet little sundress for a little neighbor girl's birthday and forgot to take pictures of it. SO cute! I didn't do it the lazy way either. French seams and lined bodice etc.
I did some baby sewing, wash clothes, bibs, swaddlers etc. Some sewing for Lei, *a skirt and a camera bag* She wanted the camera bag so padded that she could drop it and not hurt her camera....her camera.
She saved her money and watched fliers for sales and shopped smart until she found an excellent camera for an excellent price. I am so FLIPPIN proud of her.
It's a big purchase and she wants to take good care of it. I tell you what though, installing a zipper into a case that thick was daunting.
I've crocheted a lot since surgery, cause really, other than watch movies, sleep and whine, what was there to do?
A sweater for my mom's birthday, moccasins for my Dad's birthday, a couple little hats and slippers for babies and socks for Lei.
Next on the list of stuff to make is capris and shorts for Jaala.
