I live almost like a hermit on weekends. I rarely want to go anywhere. Usually my time is spent making stuff for lunches, for the week. I don't eat or use processed sugar and so I have to bake or create the granola bars, muffins and cookies that will supplement the fruits and veggies of the lunch boxes. Last week I had a squash and a sweet potato, so I made squash chocolate cookies, loaded with flax meal, barley, oats and health! I made sweet potato muffins which the girls thought were awesome and cleaned up before the week was out.
This weekend I made lentil cookies, flax crackers and energy bars. I intended to make pear muffins but Faron was dying for a pie....I didn't really make him a pie, but I made a fruit crisp which is almost like a pie and healthier!
Today Leisha has an ear, nose, throat specialist appointment. We've been waiting since August for this appointment, so I'm taking the afternoon off work.
Leisha is the one who always has the stuffy nose, always sounds like she has a cold and gasps for air while reading aloud, because she can't breathe through her nose. She gets constant "colds" and is oh so tired all the time. I'm really hoping that we can get this dealt with, without surgery or anything gross invasive. We've been taking her to our Chiropractor, it works really well in keeping her clear, but only if we go every week....since the Alberta gov't de-listed Chiropractic care from their insured services, we can't afford to take her every week......*where's that rocket launcher?*
The week is going to be nuts.
Leisha today, my biopsy tomorrow, lawyer appointment on Wednesday....yes, lawyer. Kyle is still dancing around his responsibilities. This one is to get a child support order, as well as force him to co- pay extra expenses.
I wish he would take the little hussy and her snot faced brats and disappear.
One of the hussy's spawn tried to choke Leisha, on the weekend. How fucking dangerous is that? He is bigger than Jaala *She's 10 inches and 20 lbs bigger than Leisha* and Leisha could have been really hurt if Jaala hadn't intervened. Leisha says David told her that she was going to die in three seconds, then grabbed her.
Jaala said she yanked his arms off Lei and flung him against the van seat *you go Jaala* ahem violence is not the answer!
They told the hussy and her response apparently extended to ask"why did you do that", but no farther.
Leisha said she's scared now because the hussy didn't tell the spawn not to commit that action again.
Parent's can't always intervene in every scrap, there are things that kids need to work out on their own....but when it comes to physical threat, harm or violence, the parent must get involved and the child must be taught the dangers of such action.
Well, have a good week.
Don't do anything I wouldn't do.
I know I was skeptical of your lentil cookies... (still am... goes back to my childhood and my mom's one week lentil kick, I guess), but the sweet potato muffins sound great! Post the recipe if you get the chance.
ReplyDeleteChiropractors aren't covered here either, but they are amazing... when Sam was a baby he only army crawled for the longest time... we took him to the chiropractor and that same day he was up on all fours.
I'll be thinking of you this week... hope it all goes well.
Loves to you!
