The report is in my hands.
I am apparently a "unique personality, quirky, and rough edged woman"
I have been diagnosed with "great animosity and hostility" toward my ex husband, for which counselling is recommended.
It was confirmed that I show no signs of addictions, psychosis, instability or unfittness to parent.
I have strong cognitive abilities, normal personality, slight parenting stress index which is predicted to rise under extreme life stress.
No change of custody is recommended, in fact, the Dr. said it would do irreparable harm to the girls, to uproot them, because they have a "close and strong loving bond with their mother".
The Dr. saw some decline in the relationship between the girls and their father, since he moved to Edmonton.
The Dr. was clear that 50/50 parenting is NOT a good idea.
I will retain primary care giving and primary decision making.
Summer holidays have been recommended to include a two week holiday for Kyle and then a 3 week holiday, with the girls coming to me at on the weekends between. Two weeks holiday for me, plus the week and weekend prior to school starting each year. Normal weekend access is to cease in that time. There will be a mandated date for letting me know what dates he wants, and we will alternate having *first pick*
Shared holiday's such as christmas and easter.
Now my lawyer is trying to set up a four way meeting between Kyle, his counsel and myself and my counsel.
If we can get something in writting to the effect of the reccomendations, then we won't have to go to court. If not well, there will be a court trial. Cross your fingers eh?
The girls are going with Grammie for the weekend. They're both super excited to "help" papa and play with Gramma!
Interestingly enough, the girls raved to the Assessor, on three different occasions about how much they love being at Gramma's house. They both drew their Kinetic Family drawings for the assessment, of them playing at Gramma's and described their most exciting times as being at Gramma's.
One of Kyle's collateral witnesses described my parents as "salt of the earth people" and the reccomendations included in the report were that the girls be given free and clear contact with their grandparents, including vacation time.
I wish every kid were as lucky as mine are!
Have a super great weekend. I am at a forum for the college all day saturday which will be tons of fun.
Sheesh Louise!!... I could have told you all that without you having to go through the long drawn out process!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way... your house looks awesome... you must be thrilled that you don't have windows at the ceiling anymore!
I think quirky is the formal term for: not a boring clone! So glad the report turned out well.
